TERRORIST MURDERS AND MAIMING IN RHODESIA

The following images (issued by the Rhodesian Ministry of Information) depict a mute testimony of how far ZIPRA and ZANLA terrorists would go in the name of "Freedom". The baby pictured below Natasha Glenny was bayonetted to death by a group of Terrorists, the tribesmen and women butchered, bayonetted, raped and shot -they were called sell-outs by the terrorists. Innocent people stuck in the middle in a brutal war. As a crewman on Seven Squadron I saw these murders in the Tribal Trust Lands first hans as we were always the first to arrive on the scene when we brought members of the BSAP or special branch to investigate. Images like these haunt me to this day and the worst part of it is the fact that nothing has changed in Zimbabwe -the killing continues and the Western world looks on like a lame duck. There is a Shona saying that goes as following: ONE FINGER CANNOT SQUEEZE A FLEA so apt for the worlds apathy.
Some of these incidents are recorded in Choppertech.
As you can see there is no glory in war -its about killing -and its not pretty!!!!

  1. I am of the opinion that when one wages war, one should go in with overwhelming force, and violence; kill everything that moves, and then leave as quickly as one arrived. It is not that I am a heartless man, quite the opposite. War is the most brutal thing we humans engage in, and it should be kept as such, so that while the suffering is beyond imagination, it is of short duration. What is truly worse; the battle, or the overwhelming fear before the battle? To fight a "limited engagement" is to terrorize in my opinion.

Ghengis Kahn, say of him what you will, but he understood this. He came in, made the proper statement, and spared the survivors (if any) the terrorism of prolonged horror. The dead are not worried; they are free.

When we, as a western society, do not unleash the Dogs of War with adequate free reign, we only succeed in creating an environment where photos like the ones taken above can be duplicated even 30 years on. Had the western world supported Rhodesia; I believe that these ghosts would have only haunted one generation; instead of many.

War is a horrible, but inevitable part of the human condition. It is best to excise it with extreme bestiality, and short duration. Terrorism, as a concept, will continue to be an effective tool against the west until we re-learn what the ancients already knew.

I sincerely hope that you can make friends with these Ghosts Mr. Shaw. You are still alive. I think that is all they want to know. Tell them often.

  2. War is always wrong when you want to wage war and kill everything that moves, dose that include the innocent as well ? My uncle was murdered in Rhodesia in 1977...
